TVP Unflavored - ULTRA-SOY® Textured Vegetable Proteins are dry soy products which, when hydrated, have the laminar, fibrous texture of meat. The unique structure of ULTRA-SOY® enables it to hydrate and retain moisture in rigorous processing and cooking environments. ULTRA-SOY® textured vegetable proteins can be used as meat extenders in processed meats, including ground meat, sausage, pizza topping, taco meat, chili, and precooked and restructured meats. The unique texture of ULTRA-SOY® helps in binding water and fats in meat processing. This improves the handling properties of the extended meat and the overall product yield.

Unflavored TVP product is shelf stable and can be stored at room temperature, as is. If stored in a dry, cool, and well sealed package it can last 1-2 years as is. After it has been prepared for eating it should be refrigerated and treated like any other meat type product.
This product does not truly need to be rehydrated or cooked, per say. It can be snacked on as is, or just added to the top of Salads, Pizzas, Soups or whatever your favorite dish is. You may also prepare any of these products as individual items by adding quantities of water to your desired consistancy and heating the item up. This works great with the Taco Mix, Sloppy Joes, Beef Bits, the veggies burger, or others. We love to still cook in onions, tomatoes, and all our favorites toppings.
Suggested Directions for Use When Hydrating:
To hydrate, add 1 part warm water to 1 part Product, by weight, and set aside for 15 minutes. Add the hydrated TVP into your formula or recipe to partially or completely replace your meat. The optimal level of hydration varies with the application.
